Peoples Natural Gas customers will pay more for their gas starting Tuesday.

The quarterly adjusted cost recovery rate will increase from $3.23 per thousand cubic feet to $3.73 per mcf through Dec. 30, said Barry Kukovich, Peoples spokesman.

With the increase, the average residential customer who uses 86,000 cubic feet per year, or 7.2 mcf per month, will see a monthly bill increase from $66 to $70, Kukovich said.

“The increase is due to market prices being up. The commodity gas cost is a straight dollar-for-dollar pass through from Peoples to the customer,” Kukovich said.

Peoples serves about 31,200 customers in Blair County.
