Police:?Pair willinging engaged in fight

A father and son face charges after a fight in Duncansville.

Hervey J. Lake, 40, and Anthony J. Lake, 18, both of 1031 Fifth Ave., Duncansville, were arrested Saturday after a fight about 7 p.m. that started on the porch of the home and continued around the side of the house.

According to charges filed by Duncansville Borough police, the fight was broken up by a third man and when police spoke to the Lakes, Anthony Lake claimed his father had choked him with his hands around his neck and that he couldn’t breath during the altercation.

Police said both Lakes willingly engaged in the fight and that earlier in the day, Anthony Lake had fashioned bungee cords underneath a vehicle and attached them to the steering column to hinder the steering.

Hervey Lake was charged with felony strangulation along with a misdemeanor count of simple assault. Anthony Lake was charged with misdemeanor simple assault. He had also been charged with felony criminal mischief but that charge was removed by Magisterial District Judge Andrew Blattenberger, who noted on the charges that it was unsupported.

Both men were released on unsecured bonds. Preliminary hearings for both are scheduled for Sept. 24 before Magisterial District Judge Paula Aigner.
