Coleridge Avenue bridge work to start

HOLLIDAYSBURG — PennDOT has announced that work on a bridge rehabilitation project on Coleridge Avenue over Mill Run will begin Tuesday.

The bridge is located between Browning and Milton avenues Altoona.

On Tuesday, the contractor, Clearwater Construction of Mercer, will implement a signed 1.7-mile detour that will follow Coleridge Avenue, Milton Avenue, Morningside Avenue, Quail Avenue, West Plank Road, Logan Boulevard, East Ward and back to Coleridge Avenue.

Overall work on the project consists of the removal and replacement of the bridge surface, beam and substructure repairs and the replacement of the existing sidewalk. Miscellaneous construction also will take place. Work on the $215,000 project is expected to be completed by mid-November.
