A Duncansville man was killed Thursday night in Nashville, Tenn., when he was struck by a car while crossing a street near Opryland.

David Resig, 58, was struck about 9:30 p.m. on Music Valley Drive.

Nashville Metro Police told media outlets that preliminary information indicates Resig was attempting to cross the street with a group of friends when he was hit. Resig was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle, Tammy Inman, 51, of Nashville, said she saw a group of pedestrians crossing but thought everyone had made it. Inman said she did not see Resig until he was hit, according to Nashville.gov. No charges were filed against Inman, who showed no signs of impairment.
