Arch work

Mirror photo by Kay Stephens

Altoona painter Chris Cook works on the decorative Gothic arch at the front of the second floor courtroom in the original portion of the Blair County Courthouse built in 1875. The structure’s largest courtroom, and a courtroom across the hall in the 1906 section portion of the courthouse, remain closed for renovations that were undertaken with the installation of a new heating, ventilating and air conditioning system. New light fixtures were also being installed in the 1875 courtroom.
