Police officer leaves for larger department
Logan Township has lost another police officer to a larger department, though this time, only a little larger.
Anthony Talamo, whose last day is today, is moving to Murrysville Borough, his hometown, where the Police Department has 21 full-time officers — compared to Logan’s 16.
In December 2017, Cory Roland left for the state police, and in November, Tyler Prisk did the same.
The trend shows that Logan’s department is good at professional development, said Supervisor Ed Frontino.
The trend has been “quite remarkable,” said supervisors Chairman Jim Patterson.
Talamo, who worked in Logan for two-plus years, was “outstanding, a model officer,” said Police Chief Dave Reese.
“It’s our loss” that he’s leaving, Reese said.
“I’m sorry to see him go,” said supervisor Ron Heller.
The department will work on finding a replacement, Reese indicated.
