Man facing lengthy prison sentence for child porn

Seized flash drive contained 46 videos of children

CLEARFIELD — A Clearfield County man will be serving a lengthy state prison sentence for possessing child pornography.

Robert Lee Lannen Jr., 52, Morrisdale, pleaded guilty during plea and sentencing court Tuesday to nine felony counts of disseminate photo/film of child sex acts, 40 felony counts of child pornography and one felony count of criminal use of communication facility before Judge Paul E. Cherry.

Cherry sentenced him to eight to 16 years in state prison.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, an undercover state trooper located a computer that was sharing child pornography through a file sharing website. The trooper was able to download contraband digital files from this user that were traced by an IP address to Lannen’s computer.

Between April and July 2018, the trooper was able to download nine contraband video files of child porn from this address.

On Dec. 14 a search warrant was served at Lannen’s home where a thumb drive was seized that contained 46 video child porn files.

In an interview with police, Lannen admitted that he had viewed and possessed the porn images and videos found on his laptop. He also admitted the thumb drive belonged to him.
