Clearfield school employee accused of sex with student
Narehood, 23, held for incident with 14-year-old girl
KYLERTOWN — Charges have been filed against an employee of a Clearfield County school who allegedly had sex with a student.
State police say Michael William Narehood, 23, of Karthaus was employed by the West Branch School District in Morris Township where the assault occurred.
A LinkedIn profile lists Narehood’s title as assistant technology coordinator at the school beginning in July 2018. He is not listed as an employee on the district’s website.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Narehood was alone with the 14-year-old girl in his office at 4:15 p.m. May 10 when he began kissing and fondling the victim. This reportedly led to the two having sex.
In an interview with investigators on May 12, Narehood admitted to his actions, according to the criminal complaint.
Felony counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with someone less than 16 years old, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, school-intercourse/sexual contact with student and corruption of minors as well as a misdemeanor count of indecent assault were filed through District Judge Jerome Nevling’s office in Kylertown on Monday.
Narehood is incarcerated in the Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
