Alleged shooter in custody

HUNTINGDON — A Huntingdon County man wanted in Armstrong County in connection to a shooting last week is now in custody.

Huntingdon County District Attorney Dave Smith announced Wednesday that Willie Lunsford, 33, of Mount Union, was arraigned Wednesday on attempted homicide, robbery and related charges stemming from an incident in Kittanning Borough on Friday where a man was shot.

Lunsford was picked up this week by state police after troopers responded to a separate incident in Shirley Township, Huntingdon County. According to Smith, Lunsford gave troopers a false name, and after his true identity was discovered, he was taken into custody on the felony warrant from Armstrong County.

Lunsford, who is accused in the Kittanning incident with two others, is now in Armstrong County Jail in lieu of $200,000 cash bail.
