Police: GPS led teen driver wrong way

Youth cited for careless driving

Police say a crash Friday night at 17th Street and Valley View Boulevard was caused by a Hollidaysburg teen who listened to his GPS and turned into oncoming traffic.

According to Logan Township police, the 16-year-old Hollidaysburg driver turned left onto Valley View Boulevard and into oncoming traffic on the one-way road after his GPS told him to about 9:30 p.m. Friday.

The teenager’s vehicle struck a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Kristy Miller of East Freedom, head-on and caused Miller’s vehicle to hit a vehicle driven by 56-year-old George Koblinsky of Fallentimber.

Police said all drivers were wearing seat belts and that Miller suffered possible injuries in the crash.

The teenager, whose name was not released, was cited for careless driving and driving on one-way roads.
