Cambria receives stormwater grants
Projects to be funded through the Growing Greener program
Two areas in Cambria County were awarded state grants to help reduce and control stormwater in its community.
The county will receive $21,260 to stabilize 300 linear feet of streambank on Chest Creek in Patton. Nanty Glo was also awarded $19,940 to install multiple features in the south branch of the Blacklick Creek to improve flood protection and fish habitat.
The Cambria County flood restoration programs are two of nine projects to receive funding through the Growing Greener program, following this year’s unprecedented flooding and rain, according to a press release.
Gov. Tom Wolf said the more than $3 million in grants for the nine projects will help rebuild what was lost from the floodwaters and to help protect and prepare communities in the future.
