City police investigate Jeep theft
From Mirror staff reports
Altoona police continued to investigate the theft of a Jeep over the weekend.
According to Altoona police Sgt. Matthew Plummer, a 2003 Jeep Wrangler was reported stolen early Sunday from the rear of a home on the 200 block of Maple Avenue.
A friend of the Jeep’s owner then spotted the blue Wrangler at Bell Avenue and Kettle Street about 8:15 p.m. Sunday and parked his vehicle in so the Wrangler couldn’t pull out, police said.
While no description was obtained, someone jumped out of the stolen Jeep and ran off.
Plummer said a cellphone was left behind in the stolen vehicle, and the investigation remains ongoing.
