Senior fair to be held Friday

EBENSBURG — State Rep. Frank Burns will host a senior fair for the 72nd Legislative District’s senior citizens from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Young Peoples Community Center, 300 Prave St.

Those who attend will be provided information on senior services, such as the property tax/rent rebate program. Burns’ staff also will be in attendance to answer questions and provide direction on a host of government-related programs and services.

Church to note 145th anniversary

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2121 Fifth Ave., Altoona, will celebrate

its 145th anniversary with special services.

Revival services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday with the Rev. Dr. Melvin R. Baber, pastor of Friendship Baptist Church of York.

The anniversary morning service will be held at 10:45 a.m. Sunday with Pastor Keith R. Moore. An anniversary luncheon will be served at 2 p.m. in the fellowship hall after the service.

An afternoon service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Herman Burks of Mount Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Mount Union. The service also will include the Mount Hope choir.
