Police: Man shot coyote, not dog
After further investigation into a case involving an Everett man accused of threatening to kill a victim and shooting the victim’s dog, state police reported the man killed a juvenile coyote, not a dog.
Donn Reyan Jr., 45, of 1481 East Graceville Road, is being charged with terroristic threats, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person from the June 13 incident.
An earlier police report stated Reyan threatened to kill the victim while she was sitting outside of her residence in Breezewood and reportedly shot the victim’s dog, who was next to the victim.
Police said they discovered that the animal shot and killed was a coyote held captive at the residence. The aggravated cruelty to animals against Reyan has been dropped, according to police. Bedford County District Attorney Lesley Childers-Potts confirmed she dismissed the charge.
Reyan is housed at Bedford County Jail with an adjusted unsecured $50,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. July 5 at the Bedford County Central Court.
