Ward to announce 30th District bid

State Rep. Judy Ward, R-Hollidaysburg, will formally announce her candidacy for the Republican nomination for the 30th state Senatorial district at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Williamsburg Community Center on Recreation Drive in Williamsburg.

The 30th District Senate seat is currently held by John H. Eichelberger Jr., who plans to seek the 9th Congressional District post being vacated by Bill Shuster.

“I will bring proven conservative leadership to the Senate to continue standing up for taxpayers and our communities,” Ward said in a release. “From standing up to the governor’s liberal tax-and-spend agenda, to protecting our agricultural heritage and driving economic and job growth, to protecting our Second Amendment rights, I will continue to be a strong voice to the issues local residents care about most.”
