Commission supports water system project
Blair County Planning Commission members Thursday pledged their support to Hollidaysburg Borough Authority’s proposed Stonehedge Water Systems Improvement Project.
The water authority is seeking funding from the state Department of Community and Economic Development to replace undersized 2-inch and 3-inch tank-feed waterlines with a 6-inch waterline, said Jamie L. Klink, community planner.
Additionally, work will be performed to rehabilitate a 142,000-gallon water storage tank that is leaking. The replacement of the undersized lines and repair of the leaking storage tank will help to improve service for 150 customers in Frankstown Township and could also allow for expansion of service.
