Algal blooms focus of upcoming webinar

Harmful algal blooms pose serious risks to environmental, human and animal health, noted organizers of an upcoming Penn State Extension webinar.

“Water Cooler Talk: Pennsylvania Harmful Algal Blooms” will occur from noon to 1 p.m. June 25.

This session is aimed at individuals interested in water resources, professionals working in the water field, community members concerned about harmful algal blooms, travelers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Penn State Extension offers this event at no charge, but registration by noon June 25 is required to receive the link to access the webinar.

Boscov’s has opened registration for its 2025 Friends Helping Friends event. During this one-day event, Boscov’s offers its biggest sale of the year, 25% off its lowest sale prices.

To access this exclusive event, shoppers donate $5 to a registered participating nonprofit organization. In return, shoppers receive a Friends Helping Friends Shopping Pass to be used on the day of the event, with 100% of the Shopping Pass donation staying with the nonprofit.
