Hampton Inn Altoona celebrates completion of renovation project

Hampton Inn Altoona officials are celebrating the recent completion of a more than $4 million renovation project.

The project included updating the exterior to feature the latest Hampton paint scheme and enhancing on-site amenities, including an expanded fitness center and a fully renovated pool.

The lobby, breakfast area and meeting spaces have also been redesigned with a modern aesthetic. Additionally, all 111 guest rooms had a complete update, including new carpets, fresh paint and new furniture and bedding.

The project had been in the works for several years, said Jeffrey Cipriani, general manager.

“The last renovation was in 2013, so it was time for a complete refresh. The renovation was pushed back due to the pandemic and the financial toll on the hotel’s performance, just like a lot of other businesses and hotels,” he said.

The three-phase project started in September 2024 with the exterior painting of the building. The Mansard panels were removed from the top of the building, and the parking lot was resurfaced and line stripped. A new large fitness room was added and the old fitness room was converted into a new office for the director of sales, Cipriani said.

The back administrative offices were also renovated at the same time, along with all of the lobby area. The old smaller treat shop was moved to the old business center and is now a larger treat shop with many more product offerings.

“In November, we started the renovations of the guest rooms and the guest room bathrooms. In January, we started and completed the renovations of the pool and hot tub area,” Cipriani said.

The completed project is expected to have a significant impact on business.

“For the past three weeks, our service and product scores have been at 100%. It is a total game changer, as the feel of the hotel inside and out is much airier and inviting. Guests are loving the finished product,” Cipriani said.

Starting at $2.99/week.
