New hires and promotions

Cregg Dibert has been named as the new director of the Pennsylvania Highlands Community College Police Academy.

Dibert will succeed former director Dennis Miller, who, before his retirement, guided the academy through its first two years at the college from 2022-24.

Since 2014, Dibert has been the director of Security and Safety at Penn Highlands Community College. He has also served as a Police Academy instructor for the past two years. He holds certifications as a general instructor, as well as in defensive tactics, physical training and firearms.

Adam Charles has been promoted by Keller Engineers Inc. from project manager to Assistant Director of Water/Wastewater.

As assistant director, Charles will oversee design and construction of a broad range of projects, including municipal water treatment/distribution systems, municipal wastewater collection/treatment systems, storm sewers, commercial and residential water/sewer facilities, pre-treatment facilities and post-construction stormwater management structures.

David R. Jones has been named as the next president of Allegany College of Maryland in Allegany County, Maryland, effective Jan. 1.

Jones brings nearly 30 years of higher education experience, including 28 years working at Allegany College of Maryland. He currently serves as the vice president of advancement and community relations and executive director of the Allegany College of Maryland Foundation in Cumberland, Md.

Awards and honors

Amanda Artim has been named to the Pennsylvania Highlands Community College Foundation Board of Directors.

Artim joins the Board of Directors for a three-year term that will be up for immediate renewal upon expiration in 2027.

Artim owns Balance Restaurant in Johnstown. Before this, she dedicated 22 years to Cambria-Rowe Business College, where she began her career as an administrative assistant, advanced to admissions and ultimately served as the executive director.
