Altoona Pipe and Steel Supply Company Inc. recently celebrated 365 consecutive days with zero accidents or injuries including zero accidents with all company autos, tractors, trucks and trailers.

The Altoona Pipe and Steel Safety Committee recently met with Sam Baudoux, Senior Risk Management Consultant at Eastern Alliance Insurance Group to receive its Annual Pennsylvania State Re-Certification.

“We are very fortunate to have a dedicated team who care about each other and work cohesively to accomplish our goals,’ said company President Joel Hollander in a statement.

Touch-A-Truck set for Lakemont

Lakemont Park will host its first annual Touch-A-Truck event from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The event is free to the public and will feature a variety of large trucks, emergency response vehicles and equipment.

Participants include Smith Transport, Freedom Excursions, Lakemont Volunteer Fire Department, Pinecroft Volunteer Fire Department, Altoona Police Department and others.

In addition, Let’s Move Blair County will be in Pavilions 7 and 8 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., and feature a variety of activities and vendors promoting healthy living. The Rotating Chef and Rebelz Concessions will also be on hand throughout the day.
