New transfer agreement

Susquehanna University and Pennsylvania Highlands Community College have partnered to make it easier for western Pennsylvania students to continue their education and earn a bachelor’s degree.

A transfer agreement will offer Penn Highlands graduates guaranteed admission to Susquehanna University.

HUNTINGDON

Juniata College recognized

In the most recent annual U.S. News Top Colleges publication, Juniata College was ranked 75th in the 2022 rankings of top liberal arts colleges, up from 84th last year.

Juniata is one of 12 liberal arts colleges in Pennsylvania to be ranked in the top 100 nationally.

Blair chamber sets trip

The Blair County Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Ketrow Kurtz Travel, will be hosting a trip to Iceland, Oct. 26-Nov. 1, 2022.

An informational meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Devorris Center for Business Development, 3900 Industrial Park Drive. There is no obligation or cost to attend. To register, call the chamber at 814-943-8151.

Dollar General now open

Dollar General’s new store at 6823 Tyrone Pike (Route 350) is now open.

To commemorate the opening, Dollar General plans to donate 100 new books to a nearby elementary school.

The store at 5510 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Tyrone, next to Village Pantry, is to remain open.

Cambria Farm Bureau to meet

The Cambria County Farm Bureau annual meeting and dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 23 at St. Monica’s Church Social Hall.

The bureau will recognize the Itle family as the Farm Family of the Year and discuss and vote on several proposed resolutions. Cost to attend is $15. For reservations call Mary Lou Smithmyer at 814-674-3715 or Marty Yahner at 814-244-7446.
