UGI rates going up
UGI Utilities Inc. announced its purchased gas cost rates will increase effective Sept. 1. As a result, the average residential heating customer’s bill will rise by 6.1 percent, increasing from $82.39 per month to $87.42 per month
“UGI recognizes the impact energy prices have on our customers,” Chris Brown, UGI Vice President and General Manager of Rates and Supply, said in a statement. “Despite this increase, natural gas remains an excellent energy choice, backed by local, reliable shale gas supplies. UGI continues to work closely with our suppliers to ensure our customers continue to receive strong value in choosing natural gas.”
UGI Utilities, Inc. is based in Denver, Pa., and serves more than 670,000 natural gas customers in 45 counties in Pennsylvania.
Sheetz offering craft beer
Sheetz has announced the release of a new, limited-edition vanilla cappuccino craft beer dubbed “Project Vanilla Shteam Machine.”
The second craft beer brewed in partnership with Evil Genius Beer Company will go on sale at 4 p.m. Friday and will be available at 58 Sheetz stores across Pennsylvania.
Four packs of 16-ounce cans of Project Vanilla Shteam Machine are $7.99. Each store will carry a very limited supply of 4-packs, which will be available while supplies last. The beer will not be restocked once sold out.
Flu shots available
Flu vaccinations are now available at all 132 Giant and Martin’s in-store pharmacies. Giant and Martin’s pharmacists will offer drive-up flu vaccinations in select store parking lots beginning this month.
In addition, customers can visit any in-store pharmacy to receive a vaccination now. Giant and Martin’s pharmacies offer several types of flu shots for children, adults, and seniors. Most insurance plans and Medicare Part B cover flu shots.
