New hires and promotions
Nora Habig, who began working for M&T Bank in 1990, has been named president of the bank’s central and western Pennsylvania region, replacing Stephen A. Foreman, who retired Oct. 9 after a 35-year career with the bank.
Habig, who previously served as M&T’s group manager for commercial banking in central Pennsylvania for 15 years, now oversees the bank’s operations in 10 counties spanning from Dauphin and Allegheny.
Dr. David Blumberg, a board-certified colorectal surgeon has joined Conemaugh Physician Group-Surgery.
Blumberg specializes in the treatment of colon and rectal cancer, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, colon polyps and tumors using minimally invasive and robotic surgery procedures.
Sandy Deininger has been named as director of therapeutic recreation at Homewood at Martinsburg.
Deininger has more than 16 years of experience in long-term skilled nursing facilities, holding numerous roles within therapeutic activities. She has been employed with Homewood for the past 15 years. Deininger is completing her Bachelor of Science degree in human development and family studies, with a minor in gerontology and will be finishing in the spring of 2021. Deininger is also activity director and MDS assessment specialist certified.
Awards and honors
J. Martin “Marty” Kooman, certified financial planner and registered principal at Kooman & Associates LLC, Altoona, was named a member of the 2020 Chairman’s Council.
This marks the 12th year that Kooman, who joined Raymond James in 1991 and has more than 42 years of experience in the financial services industry, has qualified for this recognition, which distinguishes the firm’s top advisers.
