Dec. 4, in front of the Lightner Radio Campus at Sixth Street and Union Avenue: Drive By Day of Giving
Last year, 2,700 people were turned away from our shelter due to a lack of space. We are currently engaged in a campaign to raise funds for renovation of a building that we purchased at 2300 N. Branch Ave. in Altoona. This will be our new 35-bed shelter. Community donations and support for this effort are essential. Donations can be mailed to our office (note FSCC) or online.
Through cooperation with the Blair County Chamber of Commerce, the Mirror will feature a nonprofit corporation on the last Sunday of each month.
