Years in existence: Began nationally in 1884; came to Blair County in the 1920s
Total number of employees: Five: Victor and Deborah LaValla, husband and wife co-directors/pastors/administrators; Sue Shaw, office manager; Brandon Singer, truck driver/warehouse manager; and Ashley Singer, operational floater. Various community volunteers help daily. Due to restrictions, the office remains closed to the public until July; we will gradually reopen.
Type of nonprofit: Faith-based organization; food pantry in Blair County
Populations served: Lower income, those at hunger risk, financially unstable, challenged or alone individuals; The food pantry serves 160 households per month; between 4,000 and 5,000 individuals during the year. In March, numbers went from 170 households in 2019 to 675 in 2020.

What services or programs does your nonprofit provide?
Food pantry; giveaways for all Blair County; designated utility/lodging assistance; counseling/budgeting classes; sharing food with other local pantries and food serving groups; CHRISTmas4Kids Program for clients; Secret Santa for Seniors for clients 60 years old and older. The C-PREP Program at the 502 Mulberry St., which is halted presently.

Through cooperation with the Blair County Chamber of Commerce, the Mirror will feature a nonprofit corporation on the last Sunday of each month.
