JOHNSTOWN

Elias Painting marks 60 years in business

Elias Painting is celebrating 60 years of serving the Greater Johnstown area by looking back at their legacy and looking to the future. Elias Painting began in 1957, when founder Elias Ghantous had been laid off from his painting job. From then on, he deployed his resilience, going door-to-door and offering his painting services at $10 per room. In 1960, the business officially became Elias Painting.

His son, Albert, is now the business owner.

“As we celebrate our 60th year in business we are grateful for the foundation that my parents provided as a platform for success. We still use many of their time-tested techniques and marry those techniques with technology to produce superior results. We look forward to the next 60 years as my son, Elias Ghantous, is poised to take the company to the next step,” Albert Ghantous said in a statement.

Elias Painting serves Cambria, Somerset, Westmoreland, Indiana and Blair counties and beyond.
