Bob Evans closes doors
The Bob Evans Restaurant at 317 W. Plank Road has closed its doors.
“They had a few years remaining on their lease but chose to terminate the agreement early. We are working through the termination details now,” said President Andrea Cohen of Blair Companies Real Estate. “We hope to find another national tenant to bring to our area.”
The Bob Evans restaurant chain includes 500 locations in 18 states, mostly in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic, according to Wikipedia.
The Altoona location had been open since 2012.
Hoss’s open for carryout
All Hoss’s Steak and Sea House locations are now open for curbside takeout orders.
Restaurants in counties that are green will open their doors beginning today.
Business hours will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day.
Reliance Bank expanding
Reliance Savings Bank has filed an application with the regional director of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and with the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities to establish a branch office at 3918 Cove Mountain Road, Martinsburg.
The new full-service office, which is scheduled to open in September, will incorporate the activities of a Reliance loan office, 209 S. Market St., Martinsburg. Reliance also has four branch offices in Altoona and one each in State College, Duncansville and Tyrone.
Farm Bureau offers milk
Blair County Farm Bureau will hold a second free milk giveaway beginning at 10 a.m. June 6 at First Church of Christ parking lot, 113 Good Shepherd Road, off of Juniata Gap Road.
The event will continue until all 3,800 gallons of milk are given away. Everyone is welcome. There are no income requirements.
