Custer’s Market opens
LILLY — Custer’s Market is open for business at 512 Main St.
Owned by Stuart Custer, Custer’s Market is a one-stop shop that offer’s everything from basic convenience items to grocery, deli meats and cheeses and fresh made-to-order food.
Custer received business plan assistance from the Saint Francis University Small Business Development Center, which enabled him to apply for and receive a SBA Microloan from JARI and financing from Somerset Trust Co. He has also been provided ongoing technical assistance through JARI and Startup Alleghenies.

Tyrone Hospital recognized
TYRONE — Tyrone Hospital is the recipient of the Patient Safety Authority Executive Director’s Choice Award in the annual I AM Patient Safety contest.
The annual contest recognizes health care workers exhibiting outstanding dedication to patient safety.
Tyrone was selected for the award in recognition of the extraordinary work of the hospital’s Surgical Infection Reduction Team. The team, comprised of staff from the operating room, housekeeping, patient safety, infection prevention and maintenance departments, collaborated on a project to reduce surgical site infection in patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty surgery.
ABB deploys 10 gig fiber
QUINCY, Massachusetts — Atlantic Broadband announced the availability of 10 gigabit fiber service for its business internet customers in western Pennsylvania, Rochester, N.H., and southern Maine.
The launch follows a major upgrade to the Atlantic Broadband transport network so that businesses with demanding speed and performance requirements will have ready access to the 10 gig speed without the need for additional engineering requirements.
