Charlie Moyer, former mayor of Ebensburg, has been re-elected as vice chairman of The Chrostwaite Institute Board of Directors.
The Chrostwaite Institute, named after Pennsylvania State Association of Borough’s founder Thomas Chrostwaite, is a non-profit organization created by PSAB to analyze systemic enhancements in government by conducting collaborative research ventures that inform municipal/state decision-makers and promote local economies.
Conferences and seminars
Tulay Girard, professor of marketing, and Lori Lysiak, reference and instruction librarian, both of Penn State Altoona, recently presented at the 2019 Atlantic Marketing Association Conference in Asheville, N.C.
They shared their collaborative approach to blended learning design and activities to engage students in Principles of Marketing courses.
Magisterial District Judges Daniel C. DeAntonio, Benjamin F. Jones and Michael Zungali were certified for service as members of Pennsylvania’s Unified Judicial System after successful completion of continuing legal education course work.
The week-long instructional program ensures judges remain current in legal topics and management techniques required to fairly adjudicate cases and effectively supervise a district court office.
Sonja King of Huntingdon recently retired as a commercial lines fast-track underwriter with Mutual Benefit Group following a 29-year career in insurance.
In 1990, King accepted a position as accounting assistant with Mutual Benefit Group, a post she held for 15 years. She went on to serve in a variety of roles at MBG, including finance assistant, compliance analyst, claims support supervisor and in her most recent capacity as commercial lines fast-track underwriter.
