Dollar General opening relocated store with specials

Dollar General will hold a grand opening of its newly relocated store at 608 Philadelphia Ave. beginning at 8 a.m.

Saturday, Nov. 23.

Customers will enjoy special deals and free prizes at the grand opening event. The first 50 adult shoppers will receive a $10 Dollar General gift card and the first 200 shoppers will receive a Dollar General tote bag with complimentary product samples, among other giveaways.

Dollar General’s new location features a fresh layout designed to make shopping easier and simpler for customers.

ROARING SPRING

Nason offers cardiothoracic surgery appointments

Conemaugh Nason Medical Center in Roaring Spring is now scheduling appointments for cardiothoracic surgery patients. Board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon Savas Mavridis will provide outpatient care at Conemaugh Nason, Suite 4, with procedures scheduled at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown.

Mavridis performs procedures that include coronary artery bypass graft, aortic valve replacement, mitral valve replacement, mitral valve repair, tricuspid valve repair, ascending aortic aneurysm repair, ASD closure, thoracic surgery, pacemakers and transcatheter aortic valve replacement.

Appointments may be made by calling 534-9407 and are available at Conemaugh Nason on the second Thursday of each month.

Conemaugh Health System receives two awards

Conemaugh Health System has accepted two awards from the Pennsylvania Office of Rural Health for 2019.

Conemaugh Nason Medical Center’s Cardiac Catherization Lab was recognized as Rural Health Program of the Year; and Barbara Duryea, a clinical support manager, as Community Rural Health Leader of the Year.

The Rural Health Program of the Year award recognizes health programs that address an identified need in a rural community.

The Community Rural Health Leader of the Year award recognizes an outstanding leader who has organized, led, developed, or expanded an exemplary multi-dimensional rural community health program or initiative.
