Work under way on new CrossFit Excursion location

Groundbreaking ceremonies were held Thursday for CrossFit Excursion’s new 4,000-square-foot location at 60 Walnut St.

Co-owners and CrossFit Level 2 Instructors, J.P. and Kara Skelley, started CrossFit Excursion in downtown Johnstown in 2017.

“This new location will allow us to have more space to hold bigger classes and grow our memberships. We are excited to continue serving the community and are so thankful for the support from our family, friends, our members, JARI and 1st Summit Bank,” said J.P. Skelley in a statement.

Blair Allstate agencies collecting for Toys for Tots

Two Blair County Allstate agency owners are teaming up with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation for the third year in a row to spread holiday cheer. From now until Dec. 6, anyone can stop by Rachel Chamberlin and Rob Sullivan’s agencies to donate new, unwrapped toys for local children in need. Thanks to their volunteerism, Toys for Tots will receive a $40,000 Allstate Foundation Helping Hands Grant to help even more children this holiday season.

Chamberlin’s office is at 1061 Logan Ave., Tyrone, and Sullivan’s is at 2903 Seventh Ave., Altoona.

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is one of thousands of organizations this year that will receive Allstate Foundation Helping Hands Grants secured by agency owners and financial specialists on behalf of the nonprofit where they volunteer.
