JARI sets media relations Lunch ‘n Learn session

JOHNSTOWN — JARI will hold its next Lunch’n Learn session Nov. 7 at JARI Center, 160 Jari Drive, Johnstown.

Shelley Johansson, communications specialist, Prime Design Solutions, will present “Basics of Media Relations.”

Attendees will learn when and why they should write a press release, the anatomy of a press release, how press release copy is different than advertising copy, how to prepare for a media interview, ways to use a press release beyond the media and reacting to positive and negative media coverage.

Chamber sets Business After Hours

The Blair County Chamber of Commerce will hold Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Park Home, 2134 Plank Road, Duncansville.

Cost to attend is $10 for chamber members and $20 for nonmembers.

Trade Secrets moves into new location

Trade Secrets has moved to its new location at 1512 11th Ave., across from Wolf Court.

Trade Secrets opened in 2017 in downtown Altoona. The business outgrew its original location. The decision to add a saltroom to provide dry salt therapy made it necessary to have a larger space. Trade Secrets offers handmade body care products and gift sets.

New Morrisons Cove fitness center opens

MARTINSBURG — The Village Fitness Center at The Village at Morrisons Cove, 429 S. Market St., is now open.

The Village at Morrisons Cove has opened The Village Fitness Center in partnership with Point of Fitness of Duncansville.

The facility includes an exercise room and fitness room where certified instructors will offer wellness classes, an indoor swimming pool and spa. The Village Fitness Center helps encourage residents, employees and Point of Fitness members to live active, healthy lifestyles.
