Small Business Administration sets response workshop
The U.S. Small Business Administration is inviting small business owners to learn how to reply to requests for proposal with a compliant and effective response.
During the SBA’s free Nov. 20 daylong workshop, attendees will learn to assess solicitation documents, prepare response outlines and identify effective response methods.
The workshop, presented by Quality Compliance & Management Inc., will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ramada Hotel & Conference Center.

Long’s to host fire prevention events
Long’s Outpost stores in Martinsburg and New Paris will host fire prevention events Saturday.
The Martinsburg store event will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will involve the Martinsburg Volunteer Fire Department. Fire trucks will be available for children to tour.
A similar event is planned from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Long’s New Paris location with the help of the Alum Bank Volunteer Fire Department.
Literature, toys, giveaways and refreshments will be given to all of the children. This event is provided for educational purposes. It also allows the community to meet and greet their local first responders.
