Comcast increases web speeds

Comcast is increasing download speeds for some of its most popular Xfinity Internet packages for residential customers in the Northeast Division, which includes Pennsylvania and 13 other northeastern states.

Download speeds for the Northeast Division’s most popular speed tiers — including Performance, Performance Pro and Blast! — have increased by up to 60 percent.

In Blair County, Comcast serves customers in Catharine Township, Williamsburg Borough, Woodbury Township, Snyder Township and Tyrone Borough.

Highland Hall wins award

Highland Hall Senior Housing has been chosen as the seniors housing winner in Affordable Housing Finance magazine’s 2019 Readers’ Choice Awards.

The project in Hollidaysburg, was completed in January 2018 and provides 53 units of senior affordable housing to the residents of that community.

The Development team was led by S&A Homes of State College.

Highland Hall, originally built in 1867, is listed individually on the National Register of Historic Places as well as being a significant structure in the Hollidaysburg Historic District.

Prior to its current restoration, the building was vacant for 15 years and was in a state of disrepair with serious structural problems.

Sheetz among top retailers

Dunnhumby, the global leader in customer data science, announced QuikTrip, Wawa and Sheetz are the top retailers in the $654.3 billion U.S. convenience market, according to the second annual dunnhumby Retailer Preference Index for the Convenience Channel.

The RPI surveyed nearly 7,000 U.S. households to determine which of the top 27 convenience-store retailers have the strongest combination of financial performance and consumer emotional connection.

The overall RPI ranking evaluated retailer performance on five pillars: convenient quality, price, fresh and healthy, discounts and rewards, and digital.

New location for John Hill

John Hill Real Estate will be in its new location Monday in the Snare Plaza, 110 Jefferson St., Suite 105, Hollidaysburg.

The business was previously located at 219 E. Plank Road, Altoona.
