Bedford Chamber unveils 17 celebration honorees
BEDFORD — The Bedford County Chamber of Commerce will present 17 awards to outstanding businesses, organizations and individuals during its Annual Dinner and Awards Celebration Nov. 21 at the Bedford County Airport.
The chamber partners with Bedford County Development Association, the Bedford County Visitors Bureau and Bedford County Community Connections to present awards for economic development, excellence in tourism and a commitment to hiring people with disabilities.
“The chamber’s annual dinner is the signature celebration of our diverse and outstanding business community,” said President/CEO Kellie Goodman Shaffer in a statement. “We look forward to honoring this year’s recipients as part of an evening of thanking our members and partners for all they do throughout the year.”
P. Joseph Lehman Inc. Consulting Engineers, Hollidaysburg, and Felton’s Quality Inn Breeze Manor, Breezewood, will receive the Business Hall of Fame Award.
Lehman Engineers was inducted into the Blair County Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame in 2018.
Other honorees will include:
— John Anderson Award: Bedford County Players
— Excellence in Business Award, small (no more than 10 employees): Lana’s Custom Draperies & Blinds; medium (no more than 60 employees): Howard Hanna Bardell Realty; and large (61 or more employees): Penelec.
— Volunteers of the Year: John Beamer and Dakota McClucas.
— Innovation Award: Waves Hair Studio.
— Property Improvement Award: Loving Touch Flower & Gift Shop.
— Heritage Preservation Award: Woodhaven B&B and Event Venue.
— Employer Community Service Award: Stiffler-McGraw.
— Excellence in Education: Health by Choice Education and Research.
— Excellence in Agri-Business Award: Blackberry Bottom Farm.
— Economic Development Award: Weaver’s Sanitation.
— Excellence in Tourism: Old Bedford Village.
— Community Connections Award: Hoss’s Steak & Sea House.
— Athena Award: Honoree to be announced Nov. 21.
