HUNTINGDON — Huntingdon County Business and Industry is looking for a new executive director.
Robert Reitman, executive director since 2016, submitted his resignation effective Sept. 20.
Reitman had been championing the business interests of Huntingdon County, spearheading or supporting recent projects like the Huntingdon Borough Downtown LED Streetlight project, Fairgrounds Road Rail Spur, AgriTourism Grant and redevelopment and expansion of numerous manufacturing spaces, board President Cory Sisto said.
He also supported business planning and financing for the US Sports building sale, Juniata Brewing Co., Solid Rock Wellness Center, ATJ Printing, Jenkies Joint and All American Pizza, among others, Sisto said.
“I wish the county, and particularly HCBI, well, from the dual viewpoint of a past leader and as a citizen of the county. Our potential is great,” Reitman said in a statement.
Longtime HCBI board member and former board president, Larry Burger of Kish Bank, a Williamsburg native, will serve as the organization’s interim director, Sisto said.
“Members and customers should feel confident that during this period of transition. We will continue our programs and outreach,” Sisto said in a statement. “Our team of employees, entrepreneur and innovation coach and board of directors stand ready to build on the momentum Bob has created during his tenure.”
