DelGrosso’s to host festival

The 30th annual Italian Food and Heritage Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22.

The kitchens of DelGrosso will set up Pavilion 2 as an Italian Food Villa with multiple serving stations for guests to try the many food items, including homemade lasagna, chicken marsala with gnocchi in a creamy roasted red pepper sauce, and more.

Favorites such as Italian wedding soup and pasta fagioli will be in the Red and White Tent, while DelGrosso’s own Italian sausage sandwich with peppers and onions and the meatball sandwich can be found in Pavilion 3.

Italian rum cake, tiramisu and pizza fritte will be available on the Midway. Pacifico Bakery will have breads and the Mt. Carmel Church will feature Italian pastries, including biscotti and cannoli. In addition, wine tasting from Oak Spring and Starr Hill Wineries will be available for those 21 years and older with I.D.

Opera singer Victory Brinker, 7, will perform at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. New York’s Italian crooner Micheal Castaldo will take the stage at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Faiella’s Father and Son Strolling Guitar and Mandolin Duo will entertain guests throughout the park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Vet clinic sets open house

Lakemont Veterinary Clinic, 1400 Circle Ave., will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 28 to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

Visitors can take a tour of the facility, meet the staff, enjoy refreshments and receive information for the health and well-being of pets.
