Business named to list

Advanced Powder Products Inc. of Philipsburg has been ranked No. 3,066 on Inc. magazine’s annual 5000 list, a ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies.

The list represents a look at the most successful companies among American independent small businesses. Microsoft, Dell, Domino’s Pizza, Pandora, Timberland, LinkedIn, Yelp, Zillow and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees on the Inc. 5000.

Founded in 2000, Advanced Powder Products Inc. specializes in metal injection molding and 3-D metal printing for the firearms, medical, industrial and defense industries.

Best practices workshop set

The Blair County Chamber Committee of Non-Profit Businesses will hold a “Best Practices” workshop from 8:15 to 9:45 a.m. Sept. 6 at the Devorris Center for Business Development, 3900 Industrial Park Drive.

The program is titled “The Daunting Challenges of Hiring Good Employees.”
