Graduation ceremonies for the Leadership Blair County Class of 2019 were held June 13 at Park Hills Golf Club.

This year’s 20 members bring the total number of people who have completed the program, sponsored by the Blair County Chamber of Commerce, to 591. This is the program’s 25th annual class.

The program is designed to develop and enhance community leadership by preparing individuals from diverse backgrounds to assume more active roles in addressing community needs.

Each class selects a community service project as part of the program.

In celebrating the 25th anniversary of Leadership Blair County, the Class of 2019 has partnered with Family Services to support their campaign to fund the new family shelter at 2300 N. Branch Ave.

The new family shelter will house 36-beds and six long-term apartments, provide essential life skills and on-site job training and extend counseling services to those in need.
