Open house set at business

An open house will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the new location of Tony’s Antique and Estate Services, 1225 Third Ave.

The business, owned by Tony Scaglione, recently moved from the Meadows Intersection into the former Donnelly’s Antiques location.

Scaglione said he spent the last four months remodeling the building.

Business hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily except Thursday when it is closed.

SFU sets business seminar

The Saint Francis University Small Business Development Center will hold a pre-business planning seminar from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 30 at the SBDC, 117 Evergreen Drive, Loretto.

The free seminar is for people who are interested in opening and operating their own business.

Topics to be discussed are feasibility issues, marketing, recordkeeping, business plans, legal issues, regulations/taxes and financing. Pre-registration is required for the seminar 48 hours prior to scheduled date. Interested persons may contact the SBDC at 472-3200 or e-mail sbdc@francis.edu for more information.

State of County breakfast set

The Bedford County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a State of the County breakfast featuring the county commissioners at 7:30 a.m. Jan. 18 at the Bedford American Legion at 3721 Route 220 Business.

As part of the first Government: It’s Your Business event, Commissioners Josh Lang, Barry Dallara and Paul Crooks will share their outlooks for the county for this year and answer questions for attendees.

It is $25 per person to register. Sponsorships for the event are available.
