Peoples rates to rise
Peoples Natural Gas customers will pay more for their gas starting Tuesday.
The quarterly adjusted cost recovery rate will increase from $3.95 per thousand cubic feet to $4.84 per mcf through March 31, said Carol Scanlon, Peoples manager of rates and regulations.
The average residential customer who uses 87,000 cubic feet per year, or 7.25 mcf per month, will see his or her bill increase from $75 to $82 per month, Scanlon said.
“It is a market-based rate and in November and December demand was higher than expected, the weather was colder than expected. People used more gas,” Scanlon said.
Peoples serves about 31,200 customers in Blair County.
