LifePoint completes merger

LifePoint Health, Inc. has completed its merger with RCCH HealthCare Partners, which is owned by certain funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management LLC.

As a result of the merger, LifePoint’s common stock is no longer trading on NASDAQ and will be delisted.

The combined, privately held company will operate under the LifePoint Health name and includes a footprint of regional health systems, physician practices, outpatient centers, and post-acute facilities in more than 85 no-urban communities that span coast to coast.

Much of how Conemaugh Nason and Conemaugh Memorial — members of the Lifepoint system — operate will remain the same, and officials don’t anticipate any changes in how our patients access our hospital and health care providers, said Emily Korns, Conemaugh Memorial spokeswoman.

Toys for Tots event planned

Your Jewelry Box will host a Toys for Tots Santa and Reindeer Event to collect new, unwrapped toys to distribute as gifts to less fortunate children in the community from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at 908 Logan Blvd.

The event will feature complimentary holiday snacks, hot cocoa, free photos with Santa, Mrs. Claus and his reindeer, numerous free jewelry drawings, a Santa Secret Gift Shop just for kids — with all revenues donated to Toys For Tots — and balloons by Miss Choo for the kids.

The U.S. Marine Corps will be on site to collect new, unwrapped toys and monetary donations for Toys for Tots.
