O’Reilly plans get favorable review

Auto parts retailer to construct store in Blair Township

HOLLIDAYSBURG — Blair County Planning Commission members Thursday gave a favorable review for O’Reilly Auto Parts to construct a new building in Blair Township.

O’Reilly plans to construct a 7,453-square-foot store on a vacant lot along Plank Road near the Hollidaysburg Plaza shopping center.

A paved parking lot and access driveway, landscaping and stormwater management facilities will also be constructed.

In October 2017, Bob Varner, vice president of real estate and brokerage of Pennswood Commercial Realty LLC, announced that Springfield, Mo.-based O’Reilly had purchased the former Mattress World property at 3006 Pleasant Valley Blvd. for a store.

Proposed parking for the Hollidaysburg Plaza location will contain 39 paved spaces, including two handicap spaces.

No bicycle parking is included in the plans, but commission members recommended it be added, said Jamie L. Klink, community planner.

Klink suggested that sidewalks be added along the property line adjacent to Plank Road.

O’Reilly Auto Parts officials did not return a call seeking comment.
