Bank seeks calendar entries

Since 2010, CNB Bank has offered free wall calendars featuring photos taken by local residents. Submissions are now open for the 2019 calendar.

The 2019 CNB wall calendar will feature photos from the central Pennsylvania region with the theme of parks and recreation.

Local residents can submit one or two photos online at www.CNBBank.bank through Aug. 5.

Northwest involved in merger

Northwest Bancshares Inc. and Donegal Financial Services Corp. have signed a agreement that will allow Northwest to acquire DFSC in a cash and stock transaction valued at $85 million.

In addition, DFSC will pay a dividend of about $30 million to its two shareholders, Donegal Group Inc. and Donegal Mutual Insurance Co., immediately prior to the closing of the merger. DFSC is based in Marietta, Lancaster County, and is the parent company of Union Community Bank.

As of March 31, DFSC had total assets of $577 million, net loans of $430 million, deposits of $490 million and tangible equity of $79 million. It operates 14 branches in Lancaster County.

Northwest’s presence in Lancaster County will increase from six to 16 offices.

Northwest Bank has an office along Logan Boulevard.

Photography shop now open

Susan Lynn Youshaw Cashner, a professional photographer, is leasing the top floor of the former Sellers building at 1408 Eleventh Ave. for her business, SLY Photography.

Youshaw Cashner has a certificate in professional photography from the New York Institute of Photography and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

She specializes in wedding, boudoir, fine art and commercial photography.

Youshaw Cashner plans to invite local artists to display their work in her gallery and to offer workshops in photography and other creative activities.

A public grand opening with live music and entertainment will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
