Penn Highlands Foundation awards more than $22,000 in academic scholarships for 2020-21 school year

JOHNSTOWN — Pennsylvania Highlands Community College distributed more than $22,000 in scholarship money to students for the 2020-21 academic year.

These scholarships, sponsored by numerous businesses and area philanthropists, are fostered and maintained by the Penn Highlands Community College Foundation.

Local recipients are:

Dr. Walter and Kim Asonevich Scholarship: Jocelynn Galat of Ashville.

Griffith Family Scholarship: Chloe Schiffel of Mount Union.

Daniel and Diane Holtzman Scholarship: Lauren Sichko of Northern Cambria.

Huntingdon Hope Scholarship: Jonathan Crocefoglia of Tyrone.

Amanda Jenkins State Farm Scholarship: Angelina Grove of Hesston.

Johnstown Regional Indian Subcontinent Association (JRISA) Scholarship: Lauren Sichko of Northern Cambria.

Joseph and Joan Mangarella Scholarship: Leah Farabaugh of Ebensburg.

Dale W. Miller Scholarship: Scott Griffin of Shirleysburg.

Roth Family Scholarship: Makayla Langenbacher of Hollidaysburg and Kendra Culp, Imani Vaughn and Casey Mabry, all of Altoona.

Stoystown American Legion Scholarship: Danelle Roberts of Williamsburg.

Supporting Success Scholarship: Danelle Roberts of Williamsburg and Kendra Culp of Altoona.

Valenty Scholarship: Emilee Wertz of Altoona.

Stan and Helen Westbrook Scholarship: Nicholas Hurley of Mount Union.
