AAHS graduate excels

at California University, lands job at Nestle’s

Kaylene Hallinan, a 2017 graduate of Altoona Area High School, recently graduated from California University of Pennsylvania summa cum laude with a final GPA of 4.0.

She received a bachelor of science degree in business administration with concentration in accounting and a minor in finance.

She is a member of Sigma Beta Delta Business Honor Society. She was awarded Presidential Scholar for 2019 and 2020.

She also received the following scholarships: Janis Zivic Endowed Scholarship, Ready to Succeed Scholarship and the California Merit scholarship. She recently was hired as staff accountant for Nestle’s health science of Coraopolis.

She is the daughter of David and Arletta Hallinan of Altoona.

Athlete named to Middle Atlantic Conference Academic Honor Roll

ANNVILLE — Jared Karas of Port Matilda was named to the Middle Atlantic Conference’s (MAC) Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll.

Karas, a gradute of Williston Northampton School, is a member of the Lebanon Valley College men’s golf and men’s ice hockey team(s), and is pursuing a bachelor of science in communication sciences and disorders at The Valley.
