50 years ago: Feb. 17, 1975

About 150 employees of the Mary Joy Sportswear Plant at Canal and Montgomery streets in Hollidaysburg, members of Local 424 of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (ILGWU), went on strike over pay issues.

25 years ago: Feb. 17, 2000

Giant Foods, which purchased the three former Jubilee Foods Supermarkets and named them Martins, announced that they would reopen in March and be open 24 hours a day.

10 years ago: Feb. 17, 2015

A group called “We Care,” a partnership of Tyrone Regional Health Network and ProCare Health Systems, opened the previous day at 501 Valley View Blvd., taking the place of Easter Seals, which vacated the area, taking much physical therapy equipment with them.
