Altoona City Council asked for a meeting with Cypress Communications Corp., owner of the city’s cable TV system Altoona Video, Ken Brubaker, general manager, when they asked for a raise from $4 to $5 a month.

The Horseshoe Radio Club was holding its annual field day activities at Blue Knob State Park over the weekend. Members Tom Guttshall and Chris Venesky said they had talked to operators in California, Florida, Louisiana and Arkansas and Altoona operators John Stine and Brian Fornwalt were operating from the back of a pickup truck.

The Logan Township Supervisors were considering a fee on cat owners if their pets became a nuisance and were trapped by the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society. It cost about $80 to $85 to trap an animal.
