The 12th Annual “For the Kids” golf tournament will be held on Saturday, June 11, at the Park Hills golf club in Altoona.

The tournament benefits the Gloria Gates Memorial Foundation, which sponsors daily afterschool programs in three of Altoona’s low income housing developments.

The $100 fee per golfer includes 18 holes of golf, cart, refreshments on the course, and dinner afterward.

The foundation is looking for golf teams, sponsorships and door prizes.

The Gloria Gates Memorial Foundation was founded in 1999 by Dr. Zane Gates who grew up in low income housing and wants to help children from similar backgrounds.

The foundation strives to help break the cycle of poverty that can ultimately determine the future of generations. The foundation wants every child to reach their potential in life regardless of family income.

For information concerning the golf tournament, call the Gates Foundation at 814-949-8838 or email
