Relay For Life returns to Mansion Park June 10-11
The community will come together once again for an in-person Relay For Life of Blair County at Mansion Park from 11 a.m. June 10 to 11 a.m. June 11.
“We are excited to return to Mansion Park, where we will be able to honor survivors and remember loved ones,” shared Sue Boland, event co-chair.
“This annual event is a perfect way for our teams who have worked throughout the year to raise those much-needed funds to join together in a celebration of their accomplishments as well as recognizing and honoring those who have been diagnosed with cancer.
Last year’s shortened event was a success showing we can continue to Celebrate, Remember, and Fight Back despite the COVID-19 pandemic.”
The funds raised by participating teams throughout the year will help to provide services that patients and caregivers rely on every day.
Thanks to participants, volunteers and sponsors, the American Cancer Society is fighting cancer on all fronts — by investing in groundbreaking research, providing free rides to appointments, accommodating patients when treatment is far from home, supporting our live 24/7 helpline and much more.
Scheduled events, games and activities will be planned throughout the 24 hours of Relay. A survivor dinner (donated by Olive Garden) will be available under the large pavilion at Mansion Park on Friday evening.
Sponsors include: Element Solutions Foundation/MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions (platinum sponsor), UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, Forever Media, Mount Nittany Health, GBU Life, ARC Federal Credit Union, Altoona Area School District, Ansley RV, 5 Star Powersports and Fiore True Value Hardware.
